  • We believe that the routes on our walls are our most valuable product. They form the foundation of inspiration that the rest of the facility and community revolves around. The Head Route Setter has the unique responsibility of managing the consistency, quality, and variety of our routes by leading a team of route setters in the cultivation of motivating, approachable, thought provoking, challenges that educate and strengthen our members and guests.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    • Management position, leading a small (2-4) group of route setters, and reporting to the General Manager, at a world class climbing and fitness facility in Sacramento, CA

    • 30-40 hours per week

    • $28.00 - $34.00 per hour based on experience, salaried if committed to full time

    • Eligible for health insurance with significant company contribution toward premiums, provided an average weekly clock of at least 30 hours for at least 12 weeks

    • Key position with a rapidly growing company dedicated to employee growth and advancement.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Employment history exemplifying the values and culture of The Boulder Field

    • Minimum of 6 years as a route setter, preferably at least 2 years as a head route setter

    • Ability to consistently climb v7 or 5.13a

    • Capable of consistently creating routes that inspire and challenge climbers of all abilities, dimensions, skill sets and backgrounds

    • Demonstrate a mastery of climbing movement and advanced techniques across the entire spectrum of climbing styles

    • Strong leadership skills

    • Strong motivation and desire to continue to progress and develop both as a climber and route setter

    • Highly communicative

    • High attention to detail and highly organized

    FUNCTIONS

    With the objective of setting world-class boulder problems that entertain, challenge, and ultimately fulfill climbers of all experience levels:

    • Develop and maintain a yearly setting budget in cooperation with the Executive Team

    • Hire, organize, lead and manage a crew of route setters

    • Willingness to work closely and cooperatively with TBF President and Owner in the overall vision and direction of the product

    • Train new route setters

    • Motivate, inspire, and lead through example

    • Inspire a culture of safety, creativity and teamwork within the setting crew

    • Interact frequently and in a positive manner with the local community

    • Provide articulate constructive feedback to the route setting crew

    • Develop and execute a system of route distribution for the gym

    • Execute and maintain a routine cycle of new routes

    • Upkeep, organization and management of the route setting supplies

    • Maintain route setting equipment, climbing walls, and mats to the highest standard

    • Respond and react accordingly to customer feedback

    • Work closely with the Director of Programs and General Manager to ensure program needs are met

  • JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    • Reporting to the Head Coach and General Manager leading weekly practices with the TBF Youth Team at a world class climbing and fitness facility in Sacramento, CA

    • 5 - 15 hours per week with the ability to work other programs to achieve a higher weekly total clock

    • $17.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a coach, however, we are willing to train the right candidate

    • Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of climbing movement, training, and athlete development

    • Highly creative, collaborative, and team-oriented

    • Excellent leadership skills

    • Strong work ethic

    • Motivated to teach, guide, support, and inspire the continued progression of youth climbers

    • Strong desire to continue to grow both as a coach and climber

    • Extremely empathetic and capable of communicating effectively with athletes from varying backgrounds

    • Ability to consistently climb V5 or 5.12 (preferred)

    • Competition climbing and coaching experience strongly preferred

    • Route setting experience preferred

    FUNCTIONS

    With the objective of leading programs that entertain, challenge, and ultimately fulfill climbers of all experience levels:

    • Collaborate with coaches to keep climbing fun and engaging for a variety of climber ages, ability levels and learning styles

    • Supervise climbers and lead by example to uphold gym rules, climbing etiquette, and manage the inherent risks involved with bouldering

    • Lead team practices with curriculum provided by the head coach and provide timely feedback

    • Encourage camaraderie, diversity and inclusion to create a community built on positive interactions and meaningful relationships

    • Provide knowledge of climbing techniques and answers to questions regarding team programs

    • Help athletes develop physical literacy in a fun yet challenging environment

    • Help athletes prepare for all levels of competition

    • Show a continual commitment to growth both as a coach and climber

    • Help maintain a supportive and highly encouraging environment within the TBF climbing teams

    • Connect with coaches, team members and parents to communicate needs and concerns

    • Monitor energy levels and support athletes and coaches when needed for an exceptional experience for all team members

  • JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    • Report to the Cafe Manager

    • Execute a variety of Café functions in compliance with The Boulder Field standards, in the best interest of the community, staff, and business

    • Execute a variety of gym-wide cleaning and maintenance functions in compliance with The Boulder Field standards, as part of an effort to minimize the potential transmission of communicable disease or illnesses

    • Hours per week dependent upon Guest demand

    • Starting pay rate: $17.00 per hour depending on experience

    • Eligible for health insurance with significant company contribution toward premiums, provided an average weekly clock of at least 30 hours for at least 12 weeks

    • Key position with rapidly growing company dedicated to Employee growth and advancement

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Employment history exemplifying the values and culture of The Boulder Field

    • Minimum of 2 years in face-to-face customer service, preferably with a Café and/or fitness and climbing facility 

    • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills

    • Enthusiastic about climbing, community, and meeting people

    • Strong commitment to the highest degree of sanitation and cleanliness

    • A self-starter, can work independently with minimal supervision

    FUNCTIONS

    With the objective of providing world-class customer service and maintaining a facility that is recognized by Guests as the cleanest of its kind, including, but not limited to:

    • Process Café orders, transactions, and deliverables in a precise and timely manner

    • Serve each product to the highest standard possible, as intended by the vendor and as desired by the customer

    • Operate in accordance with local and state laws and food safety guidelines, while maintaining a stellar reputation with visitors and Health Inspectors alike

    • On a continual basis, clean and maintain the Café station, adjacent common areas, among others, while maintaining an accurate log of which tasks were completed and when

    • Foster a positive, supportive environment for all visitors and Staff members

  • JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    • Executing a variety of youth programs functions, and reporting to the General Manager

    • Hours per week depending upon program demand

    • Starting pay rate: $17.00 per hour depending on experience

    • Eligible for health insurance with significant company contribution toward premiums, provided an average weekly clock of at least 30 hours for at least 12 weeks

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 2 years in childcare or youth programs, preferably with a fitness and climbing facility 

    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

    • Motivated to teach, guide, support, and inspire new and experienced climbers of all ages

    • Strong commitment to the highest degree of sanitation and cleanliness

    • A self-starter, can work independently with minimal supervision

    FUNCTIONS

    With the objective of leading programs that entertain, challenge, and ultimately fulfill climbers of all experience levels:

    • Manage Program check-ins, including waiver execution and payment

    • Prepare and maintain a clean and safe space for climbing and non-climbing program activities

    • Equip youth with the physical and cognitive tools they need for a positive climbing experience

    • Use and contribute to the archival of Youth Program Instructor tools, including but not limited to Rosters, Journals, Activities Toolkits, etc.

    • Foster a positive, supportive environment for all visitors and Staff members.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct engaging and dynamic Yoga classes every Monday and/or Thursday evening

    • Foster a positive and inclusive environment and ensure participants of all levels feel supported and challenged

    • Tailor classes to accommodate the unique setting of a rock-climbing gym

    • Encourage mindfulness and relaxation techniques during sessions

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 300-hr RYT Certified Yoga Instructor with expertise in Vinyasa (and others welcome)

    • Previous experience teaching yoga classes

    • Ability to adapt and create a yoga experience suited for a diverse audience

    • Passion for promoting health and well-being through yoga practice

    • Consistent Monday and/or Thursday evening availability
